Sold (1907) Hecla Mr Cinny
Mr Cinny is a very rare Hecla. He is in fair condition. He has a good covering of white mohair and a pronounced snout with cinnamon stitching. His ears are set wide apart. His mohair is in good condition for someone of 112 years old. He has a hump back and very long arms, and his glass eyes have painted backing on them. Someone has put a Steiff button in his ear!
He measures a good 20". He is mohair, stuffed with woodwool, with felt paws. His paws and feet all have original stitching on them (claws).
His legs are a little loose, otherwise it all seems pretty good, and his joints all swivel nicely. His is mohair is worn in areas and slightly soiled in a few areas
He is adorable and a very early Teddy Bear.
This company began making bears to be Americas answer to the successful German Steiff bear. The company made their bears to be almost identical to Steiff bears, they even imported the mohair from Germany! Yet, the company did not advertise much and was out of business in two years. These adorable and handsome bears are very hard to find!
