Sold (1906) Aetna Virgil £400

’Virgil’ a rare Aetna teddy bear circa 1906, with blonde mohair, orange and black glass eyes, pronounced muzzle, black stitched heart shaped nose and mouth, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs with felt pads and card lined feet, hump, inoperative squeaker and a piece of paper attached ‘Virgil Xmas 1906’ which appears to be in an elderly hand —12in. (30.5cm.) high (balding to right arm, general wear and thinning, large hole in left hand pad and some damage to other pads)
