SOLD (1930) Jack £100
Dear Jack is a very well loved Deans Rag Book A1 bear produced in the 1930s.A previous owner writes "When Jack first came to me he was in a very sorry state so I gave him a little loving restoration to try and bring him back to life. All of his pads have been recovered with felt, he has had a mohair insert fitted to the top of his muzzle, his nose and mouth have been restitched and he has been given some vintage amber and black glass eyes. When restitching his nose I was able to retrace the original pattern of his nose and mouth as the holes in the fabric were clear from where they had once been. He had a couple of small holes on his head and the fabric on the inside of his right ear was torn. He has a kapok stuffed body, wood wool filled head and a non working tilt growler in his tummy. He measures 17 inches when lying down. His mohair loss is significant. All his joints move well. No labelling, although he would have had an inked stamp on his foot and a metal button in his ear originally. Jack is a far from perfect bear, but he is quite lovely. He has the most amazing mouse ears and a lovely firm, high, prominent hump. He is so full of character. He is wearing a little military jacket sporting his authentic commemorative medal for the silver jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary from 1936 that he is quite proud of.
