(1930) 5 Blue B George
Please meet George who has lived with me for some years now , he is a 17" 1930s Chad Valley bear with button in ear and foot label .George is well worn and loved and comes with his labels from being evacuated during the war with his three year old owner a little girl from London , included with George is a card with written provenance from his wartime owner.
"My name is George. I was named after the King. I was bought for Wendy in 1936, a few weeks after she was born, in Petticoat Lane. War came in 1939 and Wendy and I were evacuated to Sir William Jowetts in Kent. (he was the man who invented the Jowett car-how posh!) Later we moved to Nailsworth in Gloucester, where Wendy and I lived for 2 years before moving to Bristol. Then in 1954 Wendy and I moved to Brighton when she married Eric. She's been a good mother to me, so I'm pleased that my new adopted parents think I'm cute and I know I'm going to be loved" George the bear and Wendy Gibbs.
George is as seen a true character of a bear with his mummy repairs and balding much cherished during difficult times... if you like bears of outstanding condition then George is not for you but if you like the love of a character bear then George will fit right in .
